Blanche River Health (BRH) was the recipient of the Chamber Award category for 2024’s Best in Business Award. Hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce in Kirkland Lake, the award recognizes organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to the civic and economic health of our region.

This recognition underscores BRH’s continued dedication to strengthening healthcare delivery in both the Kirkland Lake and Englehart hospitals, while supporting the community through employment, partnerships, and innovation.

“Being the recipient of this award is an honour that reflects the dedication of our teams, not only in delivering quality care, but also in contributing to the economic and social fabric of our region,” said Jorge VanSlyke, President and CEO of Blanche River Health. “As both a healthcare provider and an employer, we’re proud to support community resilience.”

The nomination aligns with BRH’s ongoing efforts to expand access to healthcare, improve patient outcomes, and partner with local businesses and organizations to build a stronger region.

The Chamber Gala, which includes an award ceremony, dinner, and silent auction, took place on April 17, 2025, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Kirkland Lake. Nominations for the awards were open to the public from January 1st to 15th. Members of the public could nominate any Chamber member business for the 10 award categories, explaining why they believes the business deserved recognition. After nominations closed, each submission was carefully reviewed to ensure eligibility.

Proceeds from the Gala ticket sales help fund initiatives that benefit businesses across our region, including those connected to health, wellness, and economic development.
