Blanche River Health Celebrates Medical Radiation Technologists Week
Blanche River Health is proud to celebrate Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) Week (November 6 to November 12), an annual celebration of the essential role of these health professionals, announced Joan Brazeau, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Blanche River Health.
“The local residents we care for have long benefitted from the work of the medical radiation technologists who provide professional diagnostic imaging and radiation-related treatment at our Englehart and Kirkland Lake sites,” said Brazeau. “We are proud to celebrate the vital work they do, ensuring patients receive timely diagnoses and treatment.”
MRT Week is an annual celebration of the vital work of MRTs, who provide the professional imaging and radiation-related treatment services clinicians and patients rely on.
Pam Gregoire, Manager, Diagnostic Imaging Departments, oversees the more than 16,000 ultrasounds, echocardiography, radiography, mammograms, bone density tests and CT scans that are provided at the Englehart and Kirkland Lakes sites of Blanche River Health annually.
“Timely access to diagnostic images is central to a patient’s journey,” said Gregoire. “They are essential to making swift and accurate diagnoses, enabling patients to move onto appropriate care and treatment. It’s important to celebrate the MRT professionals in our community who work hard to foster the best patient outcomes.”
Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
