McDonald’s Kirkland Lake Giving Back to the Community
New partnership to benefit Blanche River Health Foundation
Residents of Northeastern Ontario will benefit from new hospital equipment thanks to a new partnership between McDonald’s Kirkland Lake and Blanche River Health Foundation.
Darrell Doucet, Owner and Operator of McDonald’s Kirkland Lake, will donate 10 per cent of sales generated on the last Wednesday of every month to Blanche River Health Foundation, effective March 29.
“It’s important for local businesses to give back to the communities that support them,” said Doucet. “Blanche River Health is always in need of new medical equipment to deliver quality health to locals, and I look forward to supporting the Foundation’s efforts to raise funds to help address those needs.”
John Sullivan, Chair of the Blanche River Health Foundation, says the commitment made by McDonald’s will enable the hospital to acquire much-needed equipment more quickly.
“Blanche River Health is in need of medical equipment for patient procedures, as well as new patient beds, stretchers and transport chairs for out-patients with mobility challenges,” added Sullivan. “On behalf of the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors, we thank McDonald’s for their generous, on-going support as we work to address the health care needs at our hospital sites in Englehart and Kirkland Lake.”
Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
