Blanche River Health COVID-19 Assessment Centre to Close in Englehart
Kirkland Lake Site to Continue Operating
As COVID-19 efforts continue to wind down, a directive has been issued by Ontario Health to close some COVID-19 Assessment Centres from across Ontario, including the Blanche River Health (Englehart) location on April 11, announced Joan Brazeau, Interim President and CEO, Blanche River Health.
“Current PCR testing guidelines, coupled with lowered rates of infection, have reduced demand for services at many COVID-19 Assessment Centres, including ours,” said Brazeau. “The Kirkland Lake COVID-19 Assessment Centre will remain open for the time being, ensuring the service is available in the region, should it be needed.”
Those in the area who require a PCR test should:
- Contact Kirkland Pharmacy at (705) 567-3223
- Call 811 or visit ontario.ca/health811 for more information about testing, assessment and treatment
- Contact Kirkland Lake site of Blanche River Health at (705) 568-2127
Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
