Job Summary:
The Registration Clerk is accountable to the Manager, Health Information. The Registration Clerk’s position is a high profile front line position at the Hospital. The Registration Clerk is the main contact and often the first contact between the community and the facility thus promoting a positive image. The functions provided are of high importance and high priority as all other departments use information gathered in the facility.
Requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma plus related experience.
- Advanced level French is mandatory and will be tested.
- Clerical and switchboard experience will be given preference.
- General knowledge of a health care environment and a working knowledge of medical terminology will be given preference.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and acceptable level of keyboarding proficiency.
- Must have problem solving skills and be able to work both independently and as a member of work teams.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work promptly and regularly and to maintain same.
- Must be able to maintain principles of confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
