Job Summary:
The Personal Support Worker is accountable to the Manager, Inpatient Unit & Allied Health and performs a variety of patient care activities and non-nursing support functions to assist nursing personnel in providing total patient care, in accordance with the mission statement, goals, philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and Nursing Department.
Requirements:
· Must be a graduate of a recognized Personal Support Worker program or preference will be given to those who have completed the first year of the BScN Nursing program or the Practical Nursing program
· Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support
· Bilingualism is an asset.
· A working knowledge of computers is required.
· Must be willing to work flexible hours at times, to meet the needs of our patients, families, staff and volunteers.
