Preparing for Your Visit

We recognize that a visit to one of our sites may be a stressful experience. Included in this section are a few things you can do to prepare yourself or a loved one to make the experience as seamless as possible.

If you’re visiting one of our sites for a specialist clinic, please call our booking department at (705) 544-3201 to confirm your appointment.

If you are visiting for a pre-booked diagnostic procedure, such as an x-ray, please contact our main reception line at (705) 567-5251 to confirm your appointment.

You may be required to register at our Central Registry office prior to proceeding to your appointment. The location of our Central Registry departments at each site are:

Kirkland Lake: Just inside the hospital’s main entrance and to the left

Englehart: Just inside the hospital’s emergency department entrance and to the right

When visiting one of our sites for an appointment, surgical procedure, or overnight stay, preparation will help your visit go smoothly. A few items to consider bringing with you for your visit:

  • Appointment information, including the department you are here for and the name of the physician you are seeing if applicable
  • The name and phone number of your family physician
  • The name and phone number of a substitute decision maker and alternate contact person
  • Your health (OHIP) card
  • A list of medications you are currently taking

If you are staying overnight, consider bringing a change of clothes for your trip home.
