Blanche River Health to Reopen Outpatient Laboratory in Kirkland Lake June 12
Service hours: 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday
Blanche River Health is delighted to announce the re-opening of the Outpatient collection Laboratory at its Kirkland Lake site following a 12-month closure due to employee shortages.
“The closure of the outpatient lab has had an impact on area residents, and I thank the community for its patience and understanding,” said Martha Cope, Vice President, Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Blanche River Health. “I also offer my gratitude to the Kirkland Lake Family Health Team and the Outpatient Laboratory at our Englehart hospital site for absorbing increased patient volumes. They worked in tandem to ensure test results continued to be processed.”
Mandy Weeden, Executive Director of the Kirkland District Family Health Team, says she is pleased the Outpatient Laboratory is re-opening in Kirkland Lake.
“The Family Health Team is happy to have had the opportunity to support Blanche River Health and local residents,” said Weeden. “I am proud of Family Health Team employees who stepped up to help keep these vital services going in our community.”
The Outpatient Laboratory at the Kirkland Lake site will open to the public Monday, June 12. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon (excluding statutory holidays). Appointments can be booked by calling the lab directly at 705-568-2161.
Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
