Covid-19 Outbreak Leads to Visitor Policy Changes at Blanche River Health’s Englehart Site
Visitors are now restricted to two designated essential care givers at the Englehart site of Blanche River Health due to a Covid-19 outbreak affecting employees and patients, announced Jorge VanSlyke, President and CEO, Blanche River Health
“Restricting the number of people who can visit patients is never an easy decision to make, however it is essential to curbing the spread of Covid-19,” said VanSlyke. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we continue to do everything we can to protect our patients, employees, and the community from further spread.”
There are no changes for visiting for patients who are end of life, or pediatric patients.
The visitor restrictions will be in place for the duration of the outbreak. Blanche River Health is working closely with the Timiskaming Health Unit to ensure all necessary precautions to reduce the risk of infection and prevent the transmission of COVID-19 are in place.
