Local organizations team up to attract doctors
A new physician recruitment and retention committee has been launched to help attract doctors to the Kirkland Lake and Englehart area, announced Jorge VanSlyke, President and CEO, Blanche River Health, who serves as co-chair of the committee.
Municipal, business and community representatives, together with physicians, the Kirkland and District Family Health Team, Blanche River Health and the Blanche River Health Foundation, will work together as a team to attract physicians to our area.
“I think amazing things can be accomplished when community members take ownership of issues that affect a lot of people, such as the recruitment and retention of physicians,” said VanSlyke.
The new Committee is responsible for planning, supporting, implementing and monitoring the recruitment and retention strategies to attract physicians to Kirkland Lake, Englehart and the surrounding communities.
“We appreciate the support and enthusiasm of community representatives coming together to help,” said Mandy Weeden, Executive Director of the Kirkland and District Family Health Team, who co-chairs the committee. “I’m optimistic that these efforts will pay off for our patients.”
