Improving hospital communication with local residents is the goal of a new community newsletter published today, announced Jorge VanSlyke, President and CEO, Blanche River Health.

“The community engagement sessions Blanche River Health hosted last year made it clear our communities want to know what is going on at Blanche River Health,” said VanSlyke. “The engagement sessions also highlighted the importance of communicating with the public in different formats, because a lot of people do not use computers or smart phones. That’s why we are publishing a digital and hard copy version of the newsletter.”

Those who wish to receive hard copies of the newsletter can call Blanche River Health at 1-866-274-7774 ext. 3126 or email communications@blancheriverhealth.ca to be added to the mailing list.

The newsletter, which will be published at least twice a year, will also be available on the Blanche River Health web site (www.blancheriverhealth.ca) and will be posted to the hospital’s Facebook page.

Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
