Residents seeking non-urgent care are being urged to prepare for long wait times at the Blanche River Health emergency departments in Kirkland Lake and Englehart. 

“Capacity is high throughout the hospital sites, which could mean an increase in wait times to be seen in the Emergency Departments,” said Joan Brazeau, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Blanche River Health.  “While patients who require urgent care will always be seen quickly, we are asking those with non-urgent needs to prepare for longer than usual wait times. We appreciate the public’s understanding, and we are working hard to decrease wait times.” 

Blanche River Health is a 74-bed hospital corporation with two sites serving the North Eastern Ontario communities of Englehart (26 beds) and Kirkland Lake (48 beds) as well as residents in surrounding areas.
